This is only my second year teaching Fine Art at HHS, and my first year teaching
the Intermediate level. Most people in school don't know that I am a fine artist/art teacher as well as a graphic designer/graphics teacher. I wanted to kick off the year in CP Intermediate Art with a project close to my heart, a project that speaks to my expertise: pet portraiture. I have created over 130 pet portraits. I showed my personal portfolio to my students as a way of proving that I am indeed a fine artist and that they are in good hands with me as their instructor.
Using photographs of their own pets, students employed the grid system to create
a drawing. Then, they worked with chalk pastels to bring their portraits to life. I was so impressed with their work; what a great start to the school year!
